About MovingBox

MovingBox is a home inventory app for iPhone and iPad. It uses AI to turn photos and videos into item records that people can review, edit, and organize across homes, Spaces, and Boxes. MovingBox also stores photos and supporting documents, tracks recorded values and item history, supports household collaboration through iCloud, and exports portable inventory archives.

Inventory records are stored locally and can sync through the user's iCloud account. Media selected for AI analysis is sent to the processing services described in MovingBox's current Privacy Policy.

The Story

Founder

Camden Webster is a solo indie developer based outside Chicago. He built MovingBox after experiencing firsthand how overwhelming it is to document possessions for insurance — and finding that existing solutions were either too tedious or too willing to collect user data. MovingBox lets the AI do the hard part.

The Problem

A home inventory can help during a move, insurance claim, estate-planning conversation, or ordinary household organization. The difficult part is creating a useful record and keeping it connected to belongings as they move between rooms, boxes, people, and homes.

The Solution

MovingBox reduces manual entry by starting with photos and videos, while keeping the user in control of the final record. Version 2026.2.0 extends that inventory into the physical world: people can organize nested Spaces, add numbered Boxes, and print a contents list to attach to each one. The list makes a Box identifiable and readable during moving or storage; its QR code opens the current inventory in MovingBox.
